A lattice is meant to contain. Here, it is meant to release. An ivory geometric Jaali forms a continuous honeycomb across the entire ground, and within its openings, small birds are caught mid-flight, perched, or in ascent, interspersed with delicate sprigs. The provenance is that of a Mughal aviary garden - order holding nature, geometry holding life.
The rhythm is all-over, yet never dense; the eye moves from bird to branch to hexagon, finding a new vignette with each glance. Red and white in stark contrast yet softened by the intricacy of the hand.
